Yanis Varoufakis is an economist, author, and politician who served as the Greek Minister of Finance in 2015. Since then, Varoufakis has launched the pan-European ‘Democracy in Europe Movement 2025’. In this talk, he will argue ‘The prevailing economic relations contribute to Poverty and Climate Change ’. The UNCCD – Capacity Development & Innovations Office is organizing the first UNCCD-CDIO Virtual Panel Discussion 2020. The debate discussed the relations between the following three major, interrelated topics: poverty and inequalities, economic systems, and climate change mitigation.
