April 9, 1865 . . . The Aftermath and the Economics of War

We died at Cold Harbor June 1864, an officer of the Iron Brigade. UW had his letters and I was allowed to read them. They were given to me, neatly tied up with a thin ribbon. I was allowed to make copies. It was interesting to read the letters of an ancestor who fought in the Civil War. In particular, his letters were used to detail the battle at Gettysburg.
