Ann Pettifor, Director of Policy Research in Macroeconomics (PRIME) & author of “the case for the Green New Deal” talks about her dedication to the Green Deal.


She belongs to a group which launched the framework, integrating the transfomation of the economy and the transformation of the ecosystem!


According to her, the most urgent thing we have to do is to constrain consumption and production, in order to stop the rapacious exploitation of the earth’s finite assets.


The concept of the Green New Deal group has already been adopted by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders in the USA, and the Green Deal by the European Commission and Ursula von der Leyen in Europe.

I’m Ann Pettifor, author and analyst of the global financial system, and co-author of The Green New Deal (2008). I predicted an Anglo-American debt-deflationary crisis back in 2003, and in September, 2006 published The Coming First World Debt Crisis (Palgrave). I am known for my work on the sovereign debts of low income countries and for leading an international movement for the cancellation of debts, Jubilee 2000.
