While this is correct in terms of raw increase in temperature, my understanding is that the tropics will be one of the first regions to become uninhabitable, due to the combination of humidity and temperature causing a wet bulb temperature exceeding human body limits. Not the place you want to be in the coming decades.
This is the kind of basic consideration that the "scientists" who host that show skip right past, which makes me really question their credentials and ability to think critically. Not to mention they host a BUNCH of loons. Michael Hudson and Steve Keen notwithstanding, I'm not sure there's a single credible guest who's been on their show.
