  1. 17MM is the best, won’t hurt your shoulder and is 3 times more powerful than a 22 and won’t blow a big hole in them

  2. IMO, .308 will be your best bet. Gives you plenty of take-down power for medium size game and the optionality to take down much larger game, if you ever wanted to hunt in other states for other bigger animals. Also, not sure about Florida, but it might be easier to get ammo for the .308 vs the 30-06.

    I hunt it all but boar is my favorite. 6.8SPC unless you are going to states with straight-wall laws, then 350 legend or 450 bushmaster. Hunting deer with 5.56 is legal in Florida. Start with that and then get different upper receivers, BCGs, and barrels as you expand your hunts. You can get .450 caliber straight-walled ar-15 uppers and barrels to hunt bigger game in straight-wall states.

  5. I have had no problem finding 30 06 rifles and the bullets are everywhere and generally cheaper!
