To set the change in motion we just need some leading universities to make a joint announcement that starting in two years’ time they will not accept any student who has not passed a course in Ecology 101. To set the change in motion we just need some leading universities to make a joint announcement that starting in two years’ time they will not accept any student who has not passed a course in Ecology 101. Chancellors and governors of Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Stanford, Toronto, UBC and Tsinghua University in Beijing, please step up. Governments could also pass Ecological Education Acts requiring Ecology 101 to be taught in all schools, requiring a certain grade for university entrance, and for anyone hoping to work in government. An intelligent species like us cannot afford to remain so ignorant about so much that is essential to our wellbeing, and the wellbeing of our planet.
