The "white man" cares about climate change so much that the top developed nations make life much worse for billions of poor people who need more food production, energy and resources to develop their economy for better quality of life. Some of their zealot environmentalist leaders and NGO's, paid big time by corporations and carbon tax schemes, jet around the globe to make everyone feel bad. To them the only way to "fix" climate is by more austerity.

Climate changes because of the Milankovitch Cycle. If you want fight pollution world wide go to China and India! They produce about 50% of it.

  3. Move millions of extra people into an area and then claim the temperature is getting hotter!

Or place the weather station near an airport and wait for the planes to take off. Then record the temperature as the heat from the plane hits the weather station!

Better still, place the weather station near a car park or a main road. The tarmac creates extra localised heat. Measure it and claim the temperature has increased!

Capitalists loves climate change. Show them the money! It's snouts in the trough time!

  4. because it doesn't make economic sense. "Top economist" should know how trade-offs work. Better to develop technology and adapt to changes than strangle Europe and cause another war

  5. So, was this interview recorded 20 years ago? How much MORE seriously do people need to take climate change? That's just about all western politicians want to talk about these days. Meanwhile India is still dumping garbage into it's rivers, and china is still building coal plants. It's very difficult to convince middle class white people that the whole world is NOT revolve around them.

  6. Steve this is stupid self defeating rhetoric. "White people" have led the campaign against climate change since it was discovered by… white people. If you want to criticise Texas, be specific.

You just alienate people with this kind of talk

  7. Genuinely think you're discrediting yourself here with this nonsense. Not trying to be rude.

  8. There is no climate science. That is like saying Fauci is science Assumptions feeding speculation Just as there is no science of economics or political “science “

  9. Give innovation a chance not top down economic diktat from self anointed climate “experts” Did keen in 2006 predict the 2008 economic kerfuffle ?

Wow, so many trolls or maybe steange real people hurrying to post the first but nonsense comments under such interviews.
When did parts of humankind start to develop backwards again? 🤔

  13. So far the polar caps haven't melted. The polar bears aren't extinct, and North America isn't flooded with sea water. We are starving to death paying $hit loads of carbon taxes for nothing.

  14. Steve, I am becoming like Ty Keynes, an absolute disciple. Great talk as always, keep up the good work. BTW good luck with Ravel – it is a landmark piece of software. Remember Lotus 123?

  15. the American East and West coast including Florida are going to suffer from climate change, that much is certain. Hopefully they'll get their just desserts and convert BEFORE its too late.

  16. Geo-engineering, not climate change.

  17. @TheHeraldOfChange

Timestamp 10:37 we had Kruschev's shoe, but now we have Steve keen's finger … for emphasis! 🤪

  18. @6:00 If you are willing to accept the deaths in Palestine, why would you have the political will to address climate change.

  19. it's the developing world that would die first without fossil fuels.
