InfoWars and Alex Jones personally were among the key supporters of Trump’s presidential campaign and have been among the key supporters of Trump since the start of his presidency. Pat Lang — Not a bad outcome, but … (editorial comment)

So far, so good, but there is a built in future menace in what is being said of this attack program. It is that an absence of future attacks is contingent on an absence of supposed future chemical attacks. Therefore it is easy to see that whenever the rebels/jihadis want the government attacked they can stage manage more chemical attacks. IMO if that occurs there would be an inevitable escalation of targeting until the core combat assets of the R+6 are the targets. Sic Semper Tyrannis...

Jon Schwartz — Donald Trump Ordered Syria Strike Based on a Secret Legal Justification Even Congress Can’t See

On Friday night, President Trump ordered the U.S. military to conduct a bombing attack against the government of Syria without congressional authorization. How can this be constitutional, given the fact that Article I, Section 8 of America’s founding document declares that “The Congress shall have Power … To declare War”? The deeply bizarre and alarming answer is that Trump almost certainly does have some purported legal justification provided to him by the Justice Department’s Office of...

Craig Murray — Just Who’s Pulling the Strings?

It is also worth noting that the most ardent supporters of this military action, outside Saudi Arabia and Israel, are the Blairites in the UK and the Clinton Democrats in the USA. The self-described “centrists” are actually the unhinged extremists in today’s politics. This attack on Syria is, beyond doubt, a huge success for the machinations of Mohammed Bin Salman. Please do read my post of 8 March which sets out the background to his agenda, and I believe is essential to why we find our...

Claire Connelly — Long Wars

From Syria, to Iraq, Iran to Libya, our understandings of the long-wars in the Middle-East as moral, humanitarian interventions designed to democratise and...

“Law of social cycle”

May be a good time to review some imo accurate observations by Sankar on mankind.  Wiki here. Four types of people  The law of social cycle is a theory of Varna, arising out of the Indian episteme (Inayatullah, 2002). This law states that while people in any society are all relatively similar, they have generally the same goals, desires and ambitions but differ in the way they go about achieving their goals. An individual's specific methods for achieving success depend on his physical and...

Adam Weinstein — John Bolton, Trump’s New War Consigliere, Dodged The ‘Already Lost’ Vietnam War

“I confess I had no desire to die in a Southeast Asian rice paddy… I considered the war in Vietnam already lost.” — John Bolton, 1995 Shorter John Bolton: I totally would’ve gone to fight the war I publicly advocated, but it was going to be lost anyway, and I didn’t want to die, like the 9,500-plus Americans who went in my stead and died between 1970 and the fall of Saigon. Now buy my book, Surrender Is Not An Option, which explains why we need war with Iran and North Korea. With hawks...
