Summary:
The Ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykola Azarov, (2010 - 2014) has today in Moscow spoken in defense of American political adviser, Paul Manafort, who for a long time advised the Ukrainian government, and is now under charges in the United States. I was amazed when formal charges were brought against Manafort, whom I have known for many years personally, met dozens of times, talked for hours. And when they tell me that this man is accused of plotting against the US and pursuing a hostile policy against the US - it's just some kind of absurdity. He did not take one step when he worked in Ukraine, where he did not consult with the American ambassador. He is an expert on electoral technology - back then I was leading an election campaign. We had serious differences though - he suggested

He is an expert on electoral technology - back then I was leading an election campaign. We had serious differences though - he suggested putting in writing that Ukraine aspires to be a member of NATO. I told him: "Listen, Paul, do not say such nonsense. We have our own voters, and our voters do not need this." Then he went behind the scenes and tried through others.
