"Democracy" and "rights" in name only. The supposed "freedom" is negative freedom, i.e., absence of constraint. But there is no guarantee of positive freedom of agency or consequence, as the data show. "Liberal democracy is an abstraction that should not be confused with reality, which tells a different story.
