I do not say this cynically. Historian Carroll Quigley, who was admitted to the club and wrote on it freely, states this is the case. They really do believe that only they are able to organize the world successfully, and the evidence is their success (or their ancestors').
This is the case with most "alphas," across time. It is not simply about dominance but having the right to dominate owing to natural ability rather than physical strength as in the animal kingdom.
