You’re not wrong. Government operates at a $1.7 trillion deficit. This is offset by raising the debt ceiling
Ask yourself what if other countries will stop buying us debt? It's already happening. At this point it doesn't matter if us has debt ceiling or not, no one will lend anyway.
You mean lend the government money that they themselves issue?
So we are supposed to go through hell again, being invested in the market sucks.
