You dont need to enter in false dichotomies and select between turd sandwich and giant douge. Palestine has terrorists that nobody wants because Israel has put Palestinians in the bottom of the barrel. Remain silent? Why it is not a scandal that Palestinians have been living in an open sky prison? As with many other issues, when the rich and powerful are hit (eg the few guys in the submarines implosion this year), it is in the mouth of everyone for days. When hundreds die in a country that is not aligned with US interests, it does not matter and most remain silent.
Shame shame on Israel. When will Israel learn that brutal occupation doesn't work. The apartheid state of Israel has to end.

The cheering on and defending of these people by westerners is mostly due to people wanting to be on the "cool" side of the issue and the vast majority have zero knowledge that Palestinians have rejected every solution except leaving all Jews at the mercy of them. Rejected one state solution, rejected very generous two state solutions. The only thing they want is to kill and rape Israelis till they leave. These people advocate "No more Jewish immigration to Palestine" while wanting endless immigration to Western nations and advocating for Sharia law. At least be consistent. But like I said, The vast majority of people aren't using critical thinking skills, they're either Muslim or Jewish and therefore have a dog on one side of the fight so they can't think rationally about it, or they're just ignorant outsiders peer pressured into being on the "cool" side of the issue while not taking an honest look at how all this happened not saying Israel is right, but they definitely are more respectable than Hamas. Cheering this shit is incredibly naive. You would think people would start second guessing the "popular cool" but sketchy social position after we all found out BLM was a load of bullshit, but here we are.

The attacks are horrific, and indiscriminate killing is totally wrong. I've not seen the videos you describe – they do sound like animals. However, shouldn't we also consider both sides, and the causes? Palestinians are second class citizens in Israel, and are discriminated against in law. On the 7th Oct, the day before the attacks, Israel's energy minster cut all electricity to Gaza's 2.2 million people (another indiscriminate act that will no doubt cost lives). Netanyahu is far-right, but rarely gets criticism from world leaders. The West has condoned Zionism for more than half a century – can you imagine it being tolerated if it was any other country?
Step one, we need to remove all people involved in deciding US foreign policy. They've created a hostile environment all over the world.

The US has killed millions and you complain about a few war crimes, assuming they're true, to carpet bomb millions. That's more people than all of Manhatten. It would be best if you did some serious re-wiring of your ethics. Genocide is not the answer. I think a certain religion knows that better than most, making it even more distasteful. Look at pictures of Palestine before Israel made a state there, you'd be surprised how nice it looked. Gaza has been often called the worlds largest open air prison. Israel is the occupying force and therefore is responsible for the security there. Unfortunately Hamas took over. You can think of Hamas as a prison gang running everything. The people of Gaza also suffer under Hamas and to say they are animals and Gaza should be leveled is very dangerous language. Can you imagine living in Gaza? Suffering from both Hamas and Israel. The people there are desperate, and are now getting bombed by Israel for something the authoritarian prison gang known as Hamas is doing. It's a cruel and evil response from the far-right Israeli government. There are no good sides here, they both crossed red lines.
