Regarding the Dane free magic money tree. Is this sustainable longer term Mike. gold is NOT money, Mike, agreed 100% on that, it's a commodity! gold is ALSO a type of 'fiat' currency as it has no real utilitarian value (other than jewellery), it's 'value' is what WE ascribe to it, therefore 'fiat' by definition. Our fiat money can be backed by debt as it currently is, but in order for this to work, that debt MUST HAVE A COST VIA AN INTEREST RATE. IT CANNOT BE FREE, otherwise the system will not be sustainable in the longer term. Surely u agree with this. When this nightmare virus is finally over and we start to recover CB the world over need to slowly raise rates surely, for the long term viability of the system. If we ALL have to take a 20-30% hit on the value of our assets, so be it! And if wall st billionaire types start to squeal like stuck pigs about this Jay Jay should give them the finger this time. He should be working for the people, not the wall st elites.

The Australian Financial Review is our main finance newspaper. This article was in it today:

You need a subscription so here's a snippet:

"Danes get 20-year 0 per cent mortgages

The country with the longest history of negative central bank rates is offering homeowners 20-year loans at a fixed interest rate of zero.

Customers at the Danish home-finance unit of Nordea Bank Abp can, as of Tuesday, get the mortgages, which will carry a lower coupon than benchmark US 10-year Treasuries. At least two other banks have since said they'll do the same.

Denmark stands out in a global context as the country to have lived with negative central bank rates longer than any other. Back in 2012, policy makers drove their main rate below zero to defend the krone's peg to the euro. Since then, Danish homeowners have enjoyed continuous slides in borrowing costs.

*The once unthinkable notion of borrowing for two decades without paying interest comes as central bankers across the globe shy away from rate hikes. No major western central bank is likely to raise rates this year, according to Bloomberg's quarterly review of monetary policy.

As rates have continued to sink, other banks in Denmark — home to the world's biggest mortgage-backed covered-bond market — are joining Nordea.

Totalkredit, a unit of Denmark's largest mortgage lender, Nykredit Realkredit, says it will also offer 20-year loans at 0 per cent. So too will Jyske Bank's mortgage unit. Danske Bank, Denmark's biggest bank, has signalled it may follow suit.

    Is free money normal Mike?

  13. Stop it!…..there's not going to be a Biden term! If there's any justice in the world.

  14. Democrats win!! Great news for the Stock Market and Bitcoin.. Bye Trumptards
