Mike, wish you well, but there are many problems with your perspective. First, changes in fiscal flows would have to be surprising to affect the economy. Second, monetary dominance applies, so fiscal policy simply doesn't matter when it comes to nominal NGDP growth. The Fed can completely offset the effects of monetary policy on NGDP growth with its unlimited control of the money supply. Third, the interest paid on bonds is swamped by the effects of monetary policy on the overall macroeconomy. To focus solely on increased income for bondholders is a serious mistake.

I do think that Israel is going to make a move. I don't think it will lead to a toppling of the government of Iran. Russia needs Iran and will offer them protection. I think Israel knows this and that's the reason for the delayed response.
History: US/UK overthrew the secular, social democratic govt of Iran because they voted unanimously to raise the price BP was paying to extract oil from 11% to 16%. Thus, US/UK transformed this British-style parliamentary democracy into a brutal dictatorship that did unimaginably bad, non-YouTube-friendly things to people for 25 years until overthrown in a popular revolution. The revolutionary Islamist party then beat out the revolutionary socialist party and Iran has had a theocracy ever since. Everyone agrees US/UK's criminal action in 1953 was a very good thing to do. When asked what they were trying to do, the imperial powers explained they were trying to create a secular, British-style parliamentary democracy that only charged BP 11% for oil.

What I hear about Iran reminds me of what I hear about China and the Uyghurs. I've yet to see strong evidence that Iran does much beyond using thugs to defend its interests in the region and as long as other countries don't see such evidence either, well Iran's gonna be an ally to those countries. As for the Saudis well we may have seen Wahabi extremists with affiliations to them cause trouble for Russia, China and even the US at times. Just a theory anyway but so I'll need you to consider in greater detail who's doing what for who in the region and beyond and hey maybe I'm the one who's wrong on the details here so would love to see your input there.
