Makes sense, Japan is facing some long term challenges.
Now I get it. Roll off is when they allow securities to stay* in the economy. So reducing the amount of roll off reduces the amount of interest payments the private sector receives. The zombies thought this was stimulative when its the exact opposite LOL Mike I can't thank you enough for sharing your understanding! This is hilarious xD
I just longed USD/JPY after the selling pressure has been exhausted and made a good trade on it. This rolling off reduction could drive bond yields lower.
@@gavinvan6131 good point, all else being equal the reduction in supply of gov securities in the private sector should drive yields lower in the bond market directly.
What online source do you use to track fiscal flows?
daily treasury statement. just google it and its the first result on the treasury departments website. Everyday they do a published report on the deposits and withrawals of the treasury general account.
Mike you made the reverse repo too hard to understand. In June, The FED is adding less interest bearing assets into the economy right? Appreciate you Mike.
I’m calling 160 the high for the yen for the next two years. Lets see…
Current account stuff is a bit off. Japan has big current account surpluses still (not trade surplus though, it comes from primary incomes). Selling dollars doesnt effect the current account. Current account is like profits (it measure value change)not cashflows. If they buy back yen for dollars the current account balances them off and theres no net change.
Best financial/investing channel on youtube if you ask me.
Everything is preceding as MMT has foreseen
