Stock market might be holding up despite bullish sentiment 'may be' because the dollar is going down… stock market 'appears' to be going up (very slowly) in USD, probably down if priced in Euro. Let's see who USD priced stock will do once we get a pull back in the dollars (in addition to sentiment and potential for other interesting election related surprises)

Price is determined by what people (or algorithms) are willing to pay, which is itself determined by many factors such as what other people are paying at that point in time. We can perhaps assume that prices may ultimately tend towards a "correct" value based on fundamentals in a wisdom of crowds way, but it probably won't always be the case.
