What the Democrats Do Now

[unable to retrieve full-text content]Atlantic’s Lora Kelley asks “What Do Democrats Do Now?” Or sorta like that. Trump is such a great story teller and caster of false narratives. People were looking for what they thought would be solutions to what they perceive as issues during and coming out of the pandemic. Maybe a recession would have been better […] The post What the Democrats Do Now appeared first on Angry Bear.

Speech in the House of Lords – Autumn Budget 2024

11th of November 2024 My Lords, there are many things to welcome in this Budget, particularly on the spending side. I am less keen on some of the tax proposals, which seem to be mean-minded and counterproductive, such as the tax on knowledge. The spending commitments are important because they reverse the disastrous policy of austerity, which has brought our public services and infrastructure close to collapse. Even the IMF, originally a champion of austerity, admitted that it had...

Veteran’s Day

[unable to retrieve full-text content]I’ve seen some people post “Happy Veteran’s Day.” I’m not a veteran. Technically, my dad was, although he was a naval officer who did his service in the Canal Zone, nowhere close to combat. I never saw him happy on Veteran’s Day. I was never in the military, although I did carry a draft card […] The post Veteran’s Day appeared first on Angry Bear.

Student Loan Updates 2024

[unable to retrieve full-text content]It does not look like students holding loan debt and looking for relief will get any relief soon. Newly minted President Donald Trump is in the revenge mode. That would include help from Republicans. Like any new administration looking for revenge, this one will attack the weakest element. It does not mean that Student Loan […] The post Student Loan Updates 2024 appeared first on Angry Bear.

Völkermord in Gaza. Two million deaths are in the cards.

The new UN report on deaths in Gaza makes for Grim Reading. According to the admirable work of UN data sleuths, details close to 10.000 of the official 40.000+ deaths have been added. These are only the direct victims; indirect victims (starvation, stress, sickness) are omitted. One of the findings is that, unlike during earlier periods of war in Gaza, killing is indiscriminate. Many of the victims were women and children (graphs). The youngest victim was one day old, and the oldest was...

[unable to retrieve full-text content]I do not have the complete 2024 election pattern yet. Once I do, I will repost this with complete numbers and display a pattern. One thing which is apparent. Large segments of registered voters do not vote in Presidential Elections even if eligible. Maybe it is time to have laws governing voting practices. United States […] The post Last Four Presidential Elections Has been Done by Less Than Two-Thirds of Eligible Voters appeared first on Angry Bear.

Idaho public health to Idahoans: suffer and die

[unable to retrieve full-text content]In 2020, I enrolled in the Moderna clinical trial of their mRNA vaccine. I got the first jab in August 2020, and it turns out I was in the vaccine arm of the trial, not the placebo arm. I’ve now had seven vaccinations, as the vaccine has been updated. I contracted COVID once. Of course, […] The post Idaho public health to Idahoans: suffer and die appeared first on Angry Bear.
